You may recall that it has been 3 years since the tar & chip surface was installed on Gobbler Knob Rd and the roadway has held up fairly well given the amount of traffic especially propane trucks and heavy construction vehicles. Until now, we have dealt with pot holes and other issues with bags of asphalt repair obtained from Lowes or Home Depot. This past winter’s freeze/thaw sequence has caused damage to the road surface that simple repair will not correct.

The POA contracted with SCC Asphalt Surfaces to do asphalt repair work on sections of Gobbler Knob and that work was completed on Tuesday, March 28.

Two of the three sections of Gobbler that were repaired are pictured below.

The cost of this repair is significant and it will have an impact on the POA’s reserve funds. On behalf of the POA board, I thank those home & property owners who have made the annual contribution to the road maintenance fund and ask those owners who have not yet contributed to take a moment to send their annual contribution to Double Knob POA – PO Box 696 – Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
